Procurement offices, their customer departments, and vendors alike are often frustrated by the lack of any forecasting of upcoming procurements, such as a buying plan. This lack of long-term planning can make it difficult for governments to write results-oriented solicitations and for vendors – especially small, local, and minority-owned firms – to respond effectively. In this roundtable facilitated by the Procurement Excellence Network team, governments met to discuss their own strategies for forecasting upcoming procurements, including how to work with departments to make a buying plan.
